KANSAS CITY, Mo. —
A new restaurant and bar in Power & Light aims to give guests a tropical escape without having to leave Kansas City.
The Palm Tree Club opens Friday, and it plans to bring energy and luxurious vibes.
“There’s a market for high-energy night life in Kansas City,” said Eric Coomes, brand strategist for the Palm Tree Club. “So that’s what we tried to do with Mosaic 10 years ago, and I think we’ve really succeeded with that. And so the next evolution of that is high-energy restaurant with a DJ.”
The new club will take over the former Drunken Fish location. On the first floor, guests will find a custom main bar and DJ booth with private VIP seating. The floor can transform into a dance space when the energy picks up.
“It’s going to be just what we call ‘vibe dining,’” Coomes said. “So the DJ will be playing. The energy will be good. It won’t be too loud while you’re eating dinner. I think what we thought was missing in Kansas City was the opportunity to, you know, get some friends together, whether you're celebrating a birthday, a bachelorette party; come in, get the energy going. Maybe get your night started early”
Upstairs is an exclusive rooftop lounge with a coastal-inspired bar.
The Palm Tree Club is located at 14 E. 14th St. For the venue’s hours of operation or more details, click here.
